The "Driver's Education" for Artificial Intelligence.

Cognitive Offloading to Cognitive Amplification.
Every user.
Every age.
Every profession.

We teach people to think with AI. Not surrender their thinking to it.

The Institute builds Driver's Education for AI: a proprietary five-lesson behavioral training system that teaches people to think first, verify, and command AI so AI amplifies instead of replacing human reasoning.

Russell Knight, Ph.D.

President of Artificial Intelligence Institute

Nearly three decades, Senior Technologist of AI, NASA/JPL · Lunar and Mars spacecraft navigation, including DARPA-related work.

78%

of students already using AI before any instruction.

13.6%

had received any structured guidance.

15.8% to 88%

using AI the right way.

14% to 89%

verifying what AI tells them.

14% to 90%

knowing how to use AI safely.

First-party field evidence from the Institute's California deployment. Grades 4 to 8. Two school years. 20+ school sites. About five hours of instruction.

THINK FIRST. VERIFY ALWAYS. CREATE ORIGINALLY. LEAD WITH ETHICS.

We don't teach students to stop asking for answers. We teach them to walk the path to the answer.

A basic training course in using AI.

About five hours. Every student, professional and parent should take it.

It turns AI from an answer machine into an amplifier of your own thinking.

WHAT MOST PEOPLE DO

"Just give me the answer."

Fast. Generic. Often wrong. Nothing learned.

WHAT THE INSTITUTE TRAINS

"Here is what I already think and what I'm unsure about. Challenge my reasoning, show me the steps, and tell me how I can check it."

Focused. Verified. Yours.

You understand it.

"I know AI well, yet I still encounter confusing or false answers. These five lessons brought clarity to what AI really is and how to direct it effectively. I recommend this training to every parent and professional."

— Professor A. Clark, Scientist · Evaluated all five lessons

AI Companies Publish Principles. The Institute Trains the Behavior.

Guidance and policy. Responsible-use principles, ethics statements, tips and terms of use. They tell people what to do.

Training. Five lessons that practice the behavior until it becomes a habit: Think, Frame, Question, Verify, Command. They teach people how.

Advanced Science. Simple Course.

The Institute's method was designed by Dr. Russell Knight, Ph.D., a senior technologist of AI at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, together with a leading behavioral scientist and a leading social scientist. All of that science has been distilled into five lessons and about five hours that anyone can take. You do not need to understand the science. You only need to take the course.

One Basic Course

Everyone Should Take It.

Students. Teachers. Professionals. Parents. Anywhere in the country. Anywhere in the world. A basic course. Taken once. Used every day.

AI READINESS INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE AI-NATIVE GENERATION

Human thinking remains the operating system.

The Institute builds the behavioral layer that turns cognitive offloading into cognitive amplification, before dependence becomes the default.

“Train the human before deploying the tool.”

MACH 5

Driver’s Education for Artificial Intelligence

“Five Hours. Five Lessons. Five Behaviors. One Goal: Keep the Human in Command.”

THINK → FRAME → QUESTION → VERIFY → COMMAND

MACH 5 · THE FOUNDATION · GRADES 4–6

Five hours. Five lessons. Five behaviors: Think, Frame, Question, Verify, Command.

MACH 5 is the Institute’s approximately five-hour entry pathway for teaching people to use AI as an amplifier of reasoning, creativity and judgment rather than as a substitute for thought. Five behaviors turn AI from a shortcut into an amplifier.

THE AI FOUNDATIONS FRAMEWORK

We are not ahead of the classroom. We are ahead of where the rest of the market is even looking.

One Framework. Three Programs. The Science Nobody Else Is Teaching.

Most people default to shortcut-based thinking when using powerful cognitive tools.

This framework explains how that pattern forms, and how it's corrected.

2cb93a05-686d-4146-be01-d1c9a1f4d3c6.png

This is not AI education. It's habit formation: structured, proprietary training that builds mental muscle memory and rewires how a student engages with AI, through repeated practice no standard curriculum replicates.

This is frontier science, not classroom theory. The behavioral science being written here is ahead of where the rest of the market is even looking, and it is being built by the same systems thinking that has guided autonomous AI through deep space, now turned toward the most urgent cognitive question of this generation: how do we use AI without losing the ability to think.

THREE PROGRAMS. ONE BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE METHODOLOGY.

Grade 4-6

EAI Foundation

Five hours. A lifetime of advantage. Built on structured, proprietary training and repeated guided practice.

Where the habit shift begins

DEPLOYED · YEAR TWO

EAI Accelerator

The same behavioral science, graduated upward, before AI-detection catches what habit should have caught first. Students learn to think at a level no shortcut can fake.

From shortcut dependency to genuine academic capability.

Grade 7–12

DEPLOYED · READY TO SCALE NATIONALLY

EAI Professional

The program educators asked us to build.

Educators, Adults and all AI user

When Administrator Alice P. sat in the first class, she didn't leave after the first class. She came back for all five.

She watched the habit shift happen in real time. And when it ended, she didn't just endorse the program.

She asked when the adult version was coming, and if there was a teacher version too.

“Shortcut dependency doesn't end at graduation. Neither does the fix.”

DEPLOYED · READY TO SCALE NATIONALLY

The same five behaviors work in a fourth-grade classroom, a university calculus course, and a professional workplace. The science does not change with the age of the learner. The practice does.

Why young learners learn through characters

Abstract ideas such as plagiarism, cognitive offloading and ownership of your own thinking do not land with children from early elementary school through roughly seventh to ninth grade. Stories do. That is why EAI Foundation is built on characters and Cognitive Mirrors: each character shows a habit, the learner recognizes it in themselves, and the behavior changes.

Our ambition is bigger than one classroom. The Institute is exploring a studio and television pathway to bring these characters to every child, the Sesame Street of AI.

ACE-JACOB P.

Second year in the program. The habits and meta-scaffolding didn't fade , they deepened. The instinct to slow down, verify, reason first before accepting an AI output,  all of it held, and grew. This is what durable change looks like. Not a lesson. A life skill.

The Educators Asked Next

ALICE P. Teacher/Administrator

She came to evaluate the student program. She stayed to learn alongside the students. And before the session ended, she asked us a question we heard repeatedly: "Do you have something like this for adults?"

That question is why AI Ready: Master exists. The demand didn't come from a strategy. It came from the room. The program spreads by pull, not push.

OUR VISION

A World Where Every Person Uses AI as a Thinking Superpower, Not a Shortcut.

Because the future will belong to those who think with AI, not those who let it think for them. The Institute is building that future from the frontier, where the behavioral science is being written, not just applied.

Classrooms that compress a current school year into months. Students graduating with capabilities that used to take decades to develop. A workforce that uses AI to multiply human intelligence, not replace it. That future is possible. It starts with one platform, taught early, applied everywhere.

OUR MISSION

Give Every Person the Cognitive Foundation to Use AI Correctly, Before the Wrong Habits Form.

Smarter Classrooms

Science-based habit training that reshapes how students engage with AI, turning shortcut dependency into accelerated, independent learning from Grade 4 forward.

Stronger Workforce

The same behavioral science applied to adult learners and professionals, turning cognitive offloading into genuine AI-powered capability at every career stage.

Sharper Institutions

Districts, universities, and organizations that adopt the AI Foundations Framework build the behavioral infrastructure that makes AI policy real, not just written.

A Better-Prepared Country

Our mission is national. Every person who uses AI, at any stage, in any context, deserves the cognitive foundation to use it as a superpower, not a crutch.

Not descriptions of change. Documented evidence of it, in students' own words, from inside active program deployment.

The Problem We Were Built to Solve

Every District Has an AI Policy. No One Has Fixed the Behavior.

Most districts are focused on tools. Most educators are focused on workflows. But students didn't wait. By third grade, many are already using AI the only way an untrained user can, asking for answers, copying the output, moving on. That pattern doesn't self-correct. It compounds.

d7823b2d-c04c-4232-a412-892667dc77e6.png

College admissions offices and advanced secondary programs are already deploying AI detection filters. Students who built their habits around cognitive offloading will face those filters without the independent reasoning skills to meet the standard. The Institute is the early intervention that prevents that outcome, not the remediation that follows it

The gap is the problem the Institute was built to close.

358031ff-9f74-471e-a5b4-fcb4bdf5a194.png

This is not a tools problem. It is a cognitive habit problem.

And cognitive habits are exactly what the AI Foundations Framework was built to correct.

The intervention window is open. Grade 4 is where it begins.

EAI Foundation is now live and deployed with documented behavior outcomes.

Grade 4 Is Where the Habit Begins.
It Is Also Where It Can Be Corrected.

The research on cognitive habit formation is unambiguous: usage patterns formed early are the hardest to reverse. Grade 4 marks the precise moment homework enters a student's life, and AI tools are already there waiting. Students at this age tell us directly they are using AI to get answers.

3487e913-f559-4cec-9c3c-9e77c293a5c9.png

We are in our second year of paid district deployment. We see it every session.

The students who never get this correction will face a wall, in high school, in college, in the workforce, when the shortcuts stop working and the independent thinking was never built.

Every student has the keys. Virtually none have been taught how to drive.

The Intervention Window

Four Differentiators.
None of Them Incremental.

The Delivery Platform

Professor Atlas

INTELLIGENCE THAT REFUSES TO LET THE HUMAN STOP THINKING

Professor Atlas is the continuity layer of the Institute’s human-first architecture: a reasoning partner designed to know when to answer, when to question, when to scaffold and when to step back.

In classrooms, Atlas leads first. Teachers then co-facilitate and lead, until the trained educator becomes the human Professor Atlas in the room.

Educators

A reasoning-first teaching partner.

Adults / Workforce

AI as a capability amplifier.

Professor Atlas: The Tutor That Makes You Think

— Dr. Russell Knight, Ph.D., President of Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence Institute

Senior technologist of AI at NASA/JPL. A personal professional assessment, not an endorsement by NASA or JPL.

"I consider this the most advanced tutor bot with the most secure guardrails in the country."

Who Atlas is for

Professor Atlas is for everyone learning AI, not just young students. It is the foundational training for how anyone asks, frames and uses AI. It clears the clutter out of the output, focuses the answer, and builds understanding, context and comprehension, so the person leaves with better thinking, not just a better-looking result.

Why it works

A teacher telling you to think first rarely changes behavior. Atlas does. Its practice steps are proprietary and built into the interaction itself, and they are different at every grade level and for adults. Used repeatedly, they retrain how a person approaches AI. The shift is small each time, and the outputs are dramatically different.

Students

practice steps matched to the grade, from Grade 4 through graduation.

Are your students becoming AI-dependent, or AI-empowered? EAI Institute partners with districts, state leaders, and mission-aligned funders to make it a decision.

A National Mission bigger than any one organization.

The Artificial Intelligence Institute is a newly formed public benefit corporation, created as the delivery arm for Family First Foundation, a Southern California nonprofit that has spent 26 years serving young people, families, and schools. The program it delivers, Driver's Education for Artificial Intelligence, was developed and run at Family First Foundation, and it has now been in real classrooms for two school years. We are a regional organization, and we know it.

What we found in real classrooms is bigger than any one region or organization. Students are already using AI. They did not wait for permission, and most were never taught how to use it well. We have seen what five hours of the right ethical, behavior-first training can do: it turns AI from a way to offload thinking into an amplifier of it.

We believe this is a seminal moment in how Americans think about and use AI, and that everyone should have the right way to use it. That is why we are reaching out to school districts, state leaders, funders, and national partners who can help us carry this torch from where we have proven it works to where the whole country needs it to be. We ask, humbly, for that partnership, and we are ready to earn it.

TWO FUTURES WITH AI

Cognitive Offloading.

AI becomes where the thinking happens.

Cognitive Amplification.

The human remains responsible for direction, verification, judgment and meaning, while AI extends reach, context, creativity and execution.

The Institute is built for the second future.

America’s greatest renewable resource is human intelligence. The Institute’s long-range mission is to help multiply what people can understand, create and accomplish with AI, while preserving the unaided human capability underneath it.

NATIONAL CAPABILITY. HUMAN INTELLIGENCE. COGNITIVE AMPLIFICATION.
